Shakers and motivators

Shakers and motivators
Shakers and motivators

Let's face it - workloads, client demands, and employer expectations can take its toll on anyone in the workplace.

Throw on top the added pressures of life outside work like family, finances, home, illness, or studies, and you've got yourself enough stress that can lead to uncomfortable levels of anxiety, depression, or a serious illness.

This isn't fun. But what this also means for the business, is reduced levels of productivity at work and even worse, unhappy clients!

The moral of our story is, while it's important for organisations to start the year with goal setting and strategic planning for a profitable year ahead, a large portion also includes planning on how to keep the workplace buoyant with happy, healthy, and productive staff. So, listen up business owners, your attention is being drawn to our best bits of advice to support the important people in your organisation:

  1. Set clear and achievable goals:
Employees are more motivated when they understand what is expected of them and have a sense of purpose. Setting clear and achievable goals helps employees focus their efforts and see the results of their work and achievements.
  1. Recognise and reward good performance:
Recognising and rewarding good performance helps employees feel valued and appreciated for their efforts. This can include bonuses, promotions, or other forms of recognition such as public recognition, certificate, or shopping voucher.
  1. Promote a positive and supportive work environment:
A positive and supportive work environment helps employees feel valued and appreciated for their efforts. This can include things like providing employees with the necessary resources to do their jobs, promoting open communication, and addressing employee concerns in a timely manner.
  1. Encourage work-life balance:
Encouraging work-life balance helps employees feel less stressed and more motivated. This can include things like flexible working hours, paid time-off, or other benefits that support employee well-being.
  1. Offer opportunities for growth and development:
Giving employees the opportunity to learn and grow can help keep them stay engaged and motivated. Offer training and development programs, as well as opportunities for advancement.
  1. Encourage physical activity:
Encourage employees to take regular breaks to move around and engage in physical activity, such as going for a walk or doing a quick stretching routine. Or look into organising health and fitness campaigns for fundraising as a team! This can help to reduce stress and improve overall physical and mental well-being. Zaka are getting set for a month of fitness in March. Watch this space.
  1. Foster a positive work environment:
Create a positive and supportive work environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and recognition of employees' contributions. This can help to build a sense of community among employees and reduce feelings of isolation and stress. This is how we roll at Zaka, and every team member has a valuable say and contribution to make.

There is nothing worse than returning from the end of year festivities to a same ol', same ol' scenario. Pump your stuff up with loads of motivation now, before the year rolls and the months tick over.

You won't regret it.

Oh, and by the way, were including a Wellness Wednesday schedule here at Zaka, with alternating activities from 30 mins stretching session outdoors, a breakfast at a nearby cafe, a pool comp and more.

We're all pumped for 2023!
